Guess the age!

One day a census man went to a house,knocked the door.the housewife opened the door.then the man asked her about her children and their age.she told him that the multiplication result of her three daughter's ages is 36,even if she told the man the summation of the ages he won't be able to figure them.she at last said that her older daughter was sleeping.how will the census man figure their age?

Only possibilities are 6, 6, and 1 and 9, 2, and 2. It can't be 6, 6, and 1 because she said she had an eldest child. Therefore, the ages are 9, 2, and 2.
